A New York City–based entertainment company is entering the global streaming market with a focus on cultural connection. Awesome TV founded in 2013 by Ritesh Parikh, is the first independent South Asian streaming network from the United States. The platform blends Bollywood productions, Hollywood content, and original programming, aiming to bring diverse audiences together on one stage.

Awesome TV sets itself apart with a curated mix of categories, including celebrity news, interviews, music, fashion, and original shows. Unlike region-specific platforms, its content library is accessible worldwide, giving audiences the ability to stream from any location.
The network builds its programming around three core principles: entertainment, information, and inspiration. This strategy reflects the growing demand for content that highlights varied cultural perspectives.
“We wanted to create something that connects cultures and communities on one platform,” said Parikh. “Our goal has always been to showcase South Asian talent while opening the door for global audiences to discover it.”

Beyond streaming, Awesome TV maintains an active social media presence under @awesomeitv, offering clips, updates, and behind-the-scenes content to complement its platform.
The launch comes at a time when streaming options are expanding rapidly and audiences are seeking services that reflect their cultural interests. Awesome TV’s combination of South Asian entertainment and Western content fills a gap, particularly for diaspora communities seeking both familiarity and connection.
The service operates on a streaming and on-demand model, accessible across devices. Its mix of Bollywood, Hollywood, and original entertainment is designed to reach audiences across generations.
By combining South Asian storytelling with mainstream appeal, Awesome TV aims to establish itself as a platform that reflects both cultural roots and global reach.
