Olga Sokolova has spent more than 20 years navigating the complexities of language education across continents. Now serving as Director of the International Students’ Department at Championship Academy of Distinction in Florida, she’s channeling that experience into a new venture: making Spanish accessible to working professionals, students, and travelers through her recently published guide.
Sokolova’s trajectory from Soviet Ukraine to American education leadership shapes her distinctive approach to language instruction. Growing up in a Russian-speaking environment where linguistic diversity was limited, she graduated from university in 2002 with a degree in foreign languages, just as Ukraine’s political transformation was reshaping cultural attitudes toward multilingualism. That formative experience taught her something textbooks couldn’t: language learning is as much about cultural context as vocabulary lists.
Her work in Florida focuses on ESOL coordination, where she develops methodology for American public schools serving immigrant children from kindergarten through 12th grade. The recognition has been substantial. She was named a top educator in Who’s Who in America for 2025 and received the best teacher of the year award for 2023-2024. She’s also been tapped as a jury member for an international educational convention in 2025.

From Sunday School to Published Author
Beyond her institutional roles, Sokolova founded Spanish Sunday School, an initiative designed to strip away the intimidation factor often associated with language acquisition. Her Spanish learning methodology targets people who need the language for practical purposes: workplace communication, academic requirements, or travel.
Her insights on language learning and student success have reached audiences through Spotify, where she shares strategies developed over two decades of teaching. That content complements her new book, which distills her classroom-tested approaches into accessible steps. She earned recognition as best online course creator in 2016, demonstrating an early adoption of digital education tools that many institutions have only recently embraced.

A Multilingual Perspective
Fluent in English, Russian, Ukrainian, and Spanish, Sokolova understands the cognitive leaps required to master a new language. Her graduate studies in Educational Leadership in the United States added another layer to her expertise, bridging pedagogical theory with practical classroom implementation.
She’s particularly focused on creating programs for gifted and multilingual students, recognizing that language learners often bring cognitive advantages that traditional education systems overlook. Her goal with the Spanish instruction guide is straightforward: help families and individuals feel empowered to communicate effectively without feeling overwhelmed.
The book targets a sales milestone of 100 copies per month, a modest but deliberate goal for an educator whose primary focus remains on impact rather than scale. For Sokolova, success is measured in the number of students who move from hesitation to confident communication, whether they’re preparing for college courses, planning international travel, or navigating workplace demands that increasingly require Spanish language proficiency.
