A new approach to optometry board exam preparation is gaining traction among students nationwide, combining comprehensive digital study materials with philanthropic giving. OD on the GO, founded by Dr. Amy Conner and Dr. Emily Zediker, has evolved from a simple flashcard program into a full-featured educational platform serving students in its second year of operation.
The nonprofit organization emerged in response to optometry students expressing on social media their need for affordable board preparation resources. What began as flashcards has expanded to include instructional videos, practice quizzes, and both digital and physical textbooks—all while maintaining the original pricing structure.
Dr. Zediker, one of the co-founders, brings exceptional credentials to the venture, having achieved the highest Part 1 board exam score in her school’s history. This expertise directly influences the quality of study materials offered through the platform.

The comprehensive study program currently provides materials for two of the three required national board examinations that optometry students must pass. Part 1 and Part 3 preparation resources are available now, with Part 2 materials under development and expected to launch in the coming months.
Beyond academic preparation, the organization demonstrates its commitment to community service through regular charitable donations. Following each Part 1 test cycle—twice yearly—a portion of proceeds supports selected nonprofits. The inaugural donation went to the San Antonio Food Bank through a partnership with the Modeazy Stream Team. The second beneficiary was United in Stride, an organization that connects visually impaired marathon runners with sighted guides.
This dual mission of educational excellence and social responsibility distinguishes the platform in the competitive landscape of professional exam preparation. As the nonprofit organization prepares for its third major test cycle, it continues expanding its offerings while maintaining affordability for students entering the optometry profession.
The combination of proven academic success, comprehensive study materials, and charitable giving creates a unique model in professional education, addressing both the immediate needs of optometry students and broader community welfare.
