Jayla Roxx has spent her career making sure that the stories others overlook find their way to an audience. As an Emmy-nominated producer and founder of WestCar Media, she has worked across reality television, podcasting, and audio production to create platforms where authenticity takes center stage.
Her production work on The Boulet Brothers’ Dragula earned Emmy recognition, helping establish her credentials in a competitive industry. But Roxx’s ambitions extend well beyond television credits. She has built a presence that spans multiple formats, including her iHeartRadio podcast Reality Redefined, where she interviews figures from across the entertainment world who are shaping culture through their work in reality television and beyond.
“Storytelling is evolving from something we passively consume into experiences we actively live. The future of interactive media lies in blending cutting-edge technology with deep human emotion, creating worlds where every choice matters, every branch feels personal, and audiences don’t just watch the story… they become part of it. We’re moving toward a new golden age where imagination and technology finally meet as equal partners,” she stated in our exclusive sit-down with her.
From Television to Multi-Platform Storytelling
Roxx’s background in reality TV taught her something fundamental about audiences: they connect most deeply with what feels real. That insight has shaped her approach to media production and talent development, whether she’s working on a series, hosting a podcast, or developing new projects.

Her work has attracted attention from major publications including Forbes, Vanity Fair, CBS, and Teen Vogue, all of which have featured her perspective on entertainment, culture, and visibility. As a Black trans woman in media, Roxx occupies a position that remains underrepresented in traditional entertainment spaces. Rather than treating that as an obstacle, she has used it as a foundation for building something different.
Expanding Into Audio
Roxx is currently developing a slate of original projects through a multi-project collaboration with Audible and Amazon. Among them is I’m Just Gon’ Keep It Real, an interactive podcast that represents her next step as a multi-platform storyteller. The collaboration marks a significant expansion of her reach and creative output.
Through WestCar Media, Roxx focuses on storytelling, strategic visibility for emerging talent, and public relations that prioritizes cultural impact. Her clients and collaborators tend to be creators who are building their careers outside traditional industry pathways—people who need both inspiration and practical guidance.

Building Pathways for the Next Generation
Roxx’s long-term vision goes beyond individual projects. She wants to create infrastructure that allows storytellers, particularly those who have been historically overlooked, to not only break into the industry but to sustain and grow their careers within it.
Her work is rooted in the belief that visibility matters, but so does the system that supports it. She aims to contribute to a broader shift in how the entertainment industry discovers and nurtures new voices, creating clearer pathways and stronger support structures for creators building careers in media.
For Roxx, success is not just measured in credits or accolades. It’s about leaving behind a system where the next generation of storytellers has the freedom to tell their stories fully, without having to compromise who they are to be heard.
