In California and across North America, navigating financial literacy and securing stable housing remain two of the most significant challenges for low-to-moderate income families. Rising to meet this need is Assistance Services Institute for Asians in N.A. (Assist NA), a nonprofit dedicated to combining cultural understanding with practical economic support to uplift underserved communities.
Founded by Dr. Amb. Nellie C. Reyes (h.c.), who has been widely recognized as a humanitarian and thought leader in recent years, has devoted her legacy- building advocacy through a platform in technical assistance to equip diverse low income families, health awareness, and mentoring emerging leaders—especially talented Asians, mostly Filipinos, in the U.S.—Assist NA operates with a mission to help individuals build true legacies through sustainable social and economic development solutions, primarily housing assistance.
Building Financial Foundations
At the heart of Assist NA’s programs is a focus on financial literacy and housing counseling, tailored to Asian and Pacific Islander communities, Latinos, indigenous people, and other people of color. Beyond traditional education, the organization partners with housing intermediaries and financial institutions to provide practical down payment assistance, helping families take real steps toward homeownership.
Assist NA also prioritizes youth-led ventures and women-owned small businesses, offering mentorship and technical guidance from a network of professionals across technology, funding, and urban housing development sectors. By aligning operations with sustainable practices, these programs empower founders to grow businesses that benefit both their communities and the broader economy.
Recognition Across Continents
Assist NA’s leadership has earned a remarkable array of international accolades. Dr. Reyes herself has been recognized for her humanitarian work, including:
- An Honorary Doctorate in Humanitarianism certification in France from the Global International Alliance Program
- An International Peace Ambassador Award from the Ladies of All Nations of London
- Recognition from The Bank of Humanity as a True Grassroots Leader
- The International Filipino Leadership Award at the 2023 World Summit in the Philippines

In 2025, the organization through Dr. Reyes (h.c.) received a Certificate of Honor from the UNIEARTH Humanity & Peace Foundation on World Humanitarian Day, and an Excellence in Humanitarianism Recognition Award through collaboration with RB International Publication Services for having initiated a book collaboration project.
Assist NA was also the prime mover of “A Legacy in Humanitarianism,” a collaborative book that quickly achieved the #1 international best seller status on Amazon’s Kindle Direct Publishing in just 30 days from pre-launch. Dubbed as a limited edition book, it explored how authentic connections, shared purpose, and passionate actions can create meaningful change. Dr. Reyes (h.c.) converged with 14 international authors and 6 VIP Foreword Authors from dignitaries and outstanding leaders across the globe, the first of its kind.
A Community-Centered Approach
What sets Assist NA apart is its emphasis on cultural heritage preservation alongside economic development. The organization advocates for “the unsung and the unheard,” ensuring minority communities have access to resources and opportunities often unavailable elsewhere.
Its initiatives focus on Filipino and Asian leaders throughout North America while building strong partnerships with banks and funders that support technical assistance programs for diverse populations in the state of California, where its 501 (c) 3 non profit corporation has been granted license to operate. Looking ahead, Assist NA aims to extend its programs to seniors and individuals of all ages facing barriers to opportunity, blending technological innovation with human connection.
Dr. Reyes (h.c.) has designed her 3C- Technique Life & Biz Mastery Program ( Connect, Create, Collaborate ), a coaching system which provides customized solutions and opportunities for transformation of legacy builders. Combined with her “Bayanihan Ko Lab” (her Fil-Am mentoring platform meaning, Unity in Love) equips talented Filipino Americans with best practices for start ups available in 3 Filipino dialects.
Her ultimate vision is to create as much AssistNA apps, through strong collaborations with technology and community development-oriented platforms, which will equip aspiring Asians and Fil-Ams to transform as courageous legacy builders. Providing optimal use of AI to give them access to meaningful connections with technical assistance at the palm of their hands, and in the comfort of their workplaces or homes.
Join the Movement
Assist NA continues to welcome supporters, sponsors, and donors to help expand its mission of humanitarian advocacy and legacy building. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, every contribution helps empower communities, preserve cultural heritage, and foster sustainable growth for future generations.
If you are an accomplished humanitarian or community leader and wishes to earn an Honorary Doctorate in Humanitarianism certification, Assist NA can pave the way to the nomination of its members in good standing to the GIA Advocacy University and other international leadership awarding bodies like the Leaders of All Nations International, being their trusted collaborator.
“Through Assist NA, we aim not only to provide tools and guidance but also to inspire individuals to leave a legacy of impact,” says Dr. Reyes (h.c.). “True success comes from uplifting others which can transform them as courageous legacy builders and growing their authentic connections that last a lifetime.”
